PROJECT Manager for Content

At AFLV, we’re committed to challenging conventional thinking and accelerating progress in the fraternity/sorority experience. 

As the Project Manager for Content, you’ll play a central role in driving forward AFLV’s educational resource and communication priorities. This position requires a strategic thinker and organized executor—someone who can connect the dots between ideas and implementation. 

You’ll be responsible for guiding key projects from initial concept through completion, ensuring clarity of purpose, alignment with organizational goals, and timely delivery. Working across Team AFLV staff, volunteers, and alongside a talented network of freelancers and contractors, you’ll help bring educational resources and marketing strategies to life, all while ensuring the high-quality standard our community has come to expect.

You’ll be responsible for not only managing your own workflow and partnering with Team AFLV staff, but also strategically directing the work of outsourced partners—ensuring every project meets our standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

Lead cross-functional projects specific to educational resource development and marketing & communications, from concept to completion, including understanding and aligning goals, contributing to strategic planning, developing timelines and coordinating work outputs to ensure outcomes are achieved efficiently and effectively. 

Content Leadership

Shape organizational content priorities, helping guide the strategy, creation and delivery of educational content. 

Digital Resource Development

Manage the creation and delivery of AFLV’s digital educational resources, including Connections Online, digital articles, and resource catalogs. 

Collaboration and Curation

Partner with staff, volunteers, and community contributors to curate, review, and prepare educational and marketing content for freelance/contractor work or community distribution. 

Outsourcing Oversight

Source and serve as the primary point of contact for freelance and contracted services related to: 

  • Marketing & Communications: social media, graphic and web design, copywriting, audience segmentation, communications strategy

  • Educational Resource Development: content creation, Connections articles, resource management

Freelance/Contract Management

Develop clear scopes of work, establish expectations and contingency plans, and ensure contract and budget alignment for all outsourced partners. 

Workflow Coordination

Direct freelance/contractor timelines, quality assurance processes and deliverables to ensure seamless integration into AFLV programs and platforms. 

Quality Control

Review all outsourced deliverables for consistency, brand compliance and excellence before final projection completion and/or approval. 

Asset Organization

Oversee the cloud-based organization of marketing and content assets, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval. 

Materials Management

Order, maintain, inventory and organize physical and digital content and marketing materials. 

Volunteer Engagement

Support and supervise volunteer workgroups and committees connected to content and marketing efforts. 

On-Site Program Support

Attend AFLV in-person programs (e.g. conferences, UIFI) and take responsibility for areas aligned with the duties of this job to ensure an outstanding onsite experience, including implementing a content plan.

Actively participate in shaping AFLV’s future by contributing to discussions on organizational direction, evaluating the effectiveness of existing initiatives, and identifying opportunities for new programs and services that align with the evolving needs of our community. 

External Representation

Attend and represent AFLV at select industry events and conferences. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, nonprofit management, business, or a related field

  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management, content management or related roles

  • Proven experience managing external contractors, vendors or freelancers

  • Exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to fanatical attention to detail

  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with grace under pressure

  • Familiarity with CRM databases, content management systems and digital communication platforms

  • Ability to travel and be on-site for conferences and programs to support event planning and execution

  • Membership in or significant knowledge of fraternity/sorority life strongly preferred

Reporting Relationship

This position reports directly to the AFLV Executive Director. 

Location

This is a remote position available to candidates based within continental U.S. time zones. An in-person onboarding session (approximately 3–4 days) will occur upon hire, with all travel expenses covered by AFLV. Please indicate your preferred working location in your application. 

Compensation (Full-Time Position)

Salary range: $55,000–$65,000; commensurate with demonstrated experience in aligned areas, competitive benefits package included
